Awesome: Most Luxurious Sleeper Train

We’re pretty sure you never thought of a sleeper train as a luxurious experience on par with a cruise or a five-star hotel, but we guarantee these trains will end up on your bucket list.  With only two of these sleeper trains and at a price tag of several thousand dollars a night, the trains only run at night.  Seems like a lot of hoopla about nothing, right?

Not so fast.  Before you discount the experience of these Japanese Sleeper trains, you need to understand that they have all the amenities of a five-star resort including fireplaces and private showers.  The suites are private, enormous, and gorgeous.  Why travel in a box overnight when you can have your own private area, complete with carpet, to stretch out and unwind?

For travelers on these luxury sleeper trains, the trip really is about the journey.  Booking a trip on these trains mean a stay in a full-sized suite with beds, full baths, and windows to enjoy the Japanese countryside as you whisk away down the tracks.

Gourmet Meals

Still not convinced?  How about enjoying a gourmet meal prepared by a world-renowned chef?  Breakfast on the best meals, enjoy dinner at a five-star French restaurant on wheels or enjoy prepacked bento boxes.  No matter what you are craving, you won’t leave this train hungry.

Because these trains are more like traveling hotels, they are perfect for exploring Japan.  They leave the station at 10 pm and arrive at the next station in the early morning hours, giving travelers lots of time to explore Japan before heading back to their room to dine, relax, and do it all again the next day.

This is definitely something to experience if you’re visiting Japan, but you will need to purchase your tickets a month in advance.  You can book your stay on one of the two sleeper trains by calling ahead or stopping by a train station.  It’s first come first serve, and there are no online bookings for these trains.
