The Regent Suite is a luxurious space on the Regent Seven Seas Explorer. The first time we previewed the suite, we named it “The Most Baller Suite at Sea.”
Now, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, in a Traveler exclusive, shared details on a new version of this on their newest ship, the Seven Sea Splendor – billed as the most luxurious ship – and this version is even more over the top, to paint a picture.
The President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, John Montague says that they spared no expense when they were creating the grand two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom suite. This suite costs $11,000 per night for two.
Guests will be allowed to lounge under golden chandeliers on custom-made furniture, receive an unlimited number of massages in the private spa, and sleep on a bed worth $200,000. They will also get amazing front row views – from either a hot tub the huge veranda or a private solarium – as the ship pulls into destinations like St. Barts or Monte Carlo.
Does this sound like a bit too much? Does it make a difference? Wealthy guests are eating it up already. The cruise line officials of this 750-passenger ship say that the 4,443-square-foot suite is sold out for the majority of the ship’s inaugural season. This ship debuts in February 2020.
Tillberg Design
A designer from Tillberg design of Sweden, Paulina Błasiak, told us about a retreat that she had a hand in creating. She made the experience of her guests her top priority by going all out in the master bedroom.
The result was a king-sized bed that was handmade by Hästens in Sweden. The bed was created by four artisans who put over 300 hours into creating it. They installed layers of flax and steel springs, cotton and wool batting, and horsetail hair. Błasiak says that it is going to be the most comfortable bed at sea.
In the master bathroom, there is a private spa made of stonework, marble, and gilded accents, with two heated relaxation loungers and a sauna. Views of the ocean can be seen from the roomy, glass-enclosed shower. The ship’s Canyon Ranch SpaClub therapists are always available to come by and give complimentary treatments, which can easily be accommodated by the space.
The Best View
Guests can catch a clear view over the bow from the 1,300-square-foot wraparound verandas or from the outdoor Treesse hot tub. Enjoy a beautiful sunset and a bottle of complimentary Veuve Clicquot.
If you don’t want the ocean breezes messing with your hair, you can enjoy the same view that the captain gets from the suite’s glass-enclosed solarium sitting area-while the head butler assigned to your suite offers you your preferred drink.
Invite your friends to the lavish dining room to feast on lobster and caviar. In this dining room, is one of Blasiak’s favourite items: a counter made of mirrored glass and back-lit onyx. She says the dining room is like a piece of art.
There is also a grand piano in the living room, and the cruise line tells us that it will be surrounded by several priceless artworks.
